FAQs

Are there deadlines for application?
Students who wish to participate in the exchange during the Fall Semester must apply by April 10. Those participating for the Spring Semester must apply by November 10.

Will I receive academic credit for the program?
Yes, students participating in the Student Exchange Program continue to be enrolled at their home campuses.  Students will work with their academic advisors and the campus- based Student Exchange Program Coordinators to identify courses that will maintain their academic status and graduation goals. After completing the semester, the official transcript will be sent from the host campus Registrar's Office to the Registrar on the home campus.

How to register?
Those who are accepted by the host campus will receive from the host campus the ACSSJ Registration form, a health form and information about housing on the host campus. Students complete these forms and return them to the Student Exchange Coordinator on the host campus along with an official transcript. The Student Exchange Coordinator on the home campus will assist the student with these various forms. After the registration is confirmed by the host campus, the student sends a copy of the registration to the Student Exchange Coordinator on the home campus. Do not register directly with the host campus. After completing the courses on the host campus, the student requests that an official transcript of the work completed on the host campus be sent to the registrar on the home campus.

Are there any limits to how many students may participate?
Each college agrees to host up to ten students in each semester. The best way for students to increase their chances of acceptance at their preferred host campus is to apply early.

Whom do I contact for more information?
The Student Exchange Coordinator and the Registrar on each Association member campus have information about this program. The list of Student Exchange Coordinators for each member campus can be downloaded from the word doc below or seen in the pdf here. The Association of Colleges of Sisters of St. Joseph office can be reached at (317) 721-1153.
