Serving the Community

Our member campuses have displayed these values by facilitating social justice trips, service days, and service-learning courses.

The mission of the college is dedicated to serving the Dear Neighbor of student, faculty, staff, the surrounding community, as well as our global neighbors, without distinction and with love.

These organizations included People Assisting The Homeless, St. Francis Center, Homeless Healthcare LA, Habitat for Humanity, and Lamp Community Housing. In addition, they went to city hall to meet with Alisa Orduña, the Homeless Policy Analyst for the City of Los Angeles, to discuss what the city is doing to address the issue of homelessness and to promote systemic change.

  • Over 150 students, faculty, staff, and friends of the university came together for the 13th annual Mount Saint Mary's University's  President’s Invitation To Serve, a university-wide day of service. Mount community members volunteered at Alexandria House, a transitional home for women and children, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, the Society of St. Vincent De Paul, Heal The Bay, and Stop Hunger Now.
